The village of Richfield Springs is at the end of the Richfield Springs Branch. A substantial Station served the community known for it's curative sulfur springs and hotels which featured bathing in the water as an elixir. The Station property along with the rail yard area is owned by the Central New Railroad.

Original survey map August 8, 1868- This map filed by the UC&SV RR shows that the line ended south of the Village of Richfield Springs. The railroad filed a new survey in 1871 to build the "Richfield Springs Extension" to actually reach the village. The Extension Railroad features a diverging curve to the north to gently swing the railroad line into the Village.
In June of 1871 the UC&SV Railroad filed this map to extend their line into the Village. The Depot indicated on the lower left was at the intersection of the railroad and Route 28.
